And then there’s the Mountain. Snowbasin was the site of the 2002 Olympic speeds events. The brave venture to the top of the Olympic Tram to drop into the Grizzly Face at the top. Snowbasin has 3000 skiable acres with 3000 vertical feet and two high-speed gondolas to warm from the bottom to the top of the mountain and over again. Skiers are Snowbasin ski more terrain with low lift line waits (if any) and fast access to the top. There are three sections of the mountain to explore – Strawberry, Middle Bowl and John Paul that are easy to access all in one day. Each section takes you to the top of the world!

Summit Series is working on an expansive master-plan at the top of the mountain beyond Hidden Lake. Some areas of the masterplan will be open to the public and some areas private for their investors. Today it’s as it was 50-years ago with the addition of a high-speed lift chair at Hidden Lake and another high speed lift chair under construction this year.

Powder Mountain has a variety of skiing opportunity from cat skiing to night skiing with the convenience of on-mountain ski and snowboarding rentals. Restaurants at the Base Lodge include the popular Powder Keg that offers live music most nights, draft beer and bar food such as chicken wings, burgers and kale salads. Upstairs at the Base Lodge is a cafeteria that is perfect for families serving Lucky Slice pizza, breakfast burritos, burgers and other comfort food. At the top at Hidden Lake the menu is more Mexican Cantina style with street tacos and taco salads.

The Legend of Snowbasin is true. It is the Epitome of luxurious ski lodges and has the ambiance of an upscale hotel. Guests will not find “funky” or rustic here. Snowbasin and Sun Valley, Idaho are under the same ownership, which exudes quality for its discerning guests.  Where else in North America will you find day lodges with Murano hand-blown red and blue chandeliers and fixtures throughout, Chapman brass lamps, European antiques, French tapestry walls, Italian marble floors, ski valet and upscale detail to every space.  At the base is the bold Earl’s Lodge, named after Earl Holding, the visionary of both ski areas. Earl’s Lodge sports the Cinnabar Lounge that has live music almost daily for Après Ski and a full bar to order menu items. Earl’s Lodge also cafeteria style dining with a carving station, made to order wok dishes and salads, fresh pizzas and a grill serving burgers and brats. Utah’s popular microbrews are on tap. Outside dining is popular when the sun is out. The Huntington Room at Earl’s Lodge hosts special events and is available for private events. The Skier Service Lodge at the base houses ski rentals, retail shop and excellent ski schools. The Needles Lodge is located at the top of the high-speed Middle Bowl Gondola and offers a similar cafeteria-style menu serving views from the top. The John Paul Lodge is located adjacent to the Olympic Tram but has a Mongolian style Architecture that is dynamic in its setting and offers dining with a view of jagged peaks. On the Strawberry Gondola base is a small lodge with street tacos and a coffee shop.
 
And then there’s the Mountain. Snowbasin was the site of the 2002 Olympic speeds events. The brave venture to the top of the Olympic Tram to drop into the Grizzly Face at the top. Snowbasin has 3000 skiable acres with 3000 vertical feet and two high-speed gondolas to warm from the bottom to the top of the mountain and over again. Skiers are Snowbasin ski more terrain with low lift line waits (if any) and fast access to the top. There are three sections of the mountain to explore – Strawberry, Middle Bowl and John Paul that are easy to access all in one day. Each section takes you to the top of the world!

Budget Blast

Cozyt 2-bedroom Wolf Lodge Condo, sleeps 7! This is a great condo for the die hard snowboarder/skier as it`s only 5 miles to Powder Mountain and about 20 minutes to Snowbasin. Wolf Mountain is just 10 minutes away for night skiing and a quick warm-up.

The main level has a cozy living room with a fireplace, queen size sofabed, TV with DVD/VHS and a good library of movies. This connects with a full kitchen, dining area, queen bedroom with private balcony and great views of Snowbasin and Pineview Reservoir and a full bathroom. The kitchen is fully stocked and even has a good supply of condiments and spices.

On the lower level there`s another queen bedroom with it`s own sitting area with TV/DVD/VHS and a full bathroom. A small roll-a-way bed adds room for another young guest and there is a sliding glass door out to the private patio. There`s also a ski locker to store your skis just outside. (SUMMER GUESTS, THIS UNIT HAS NO CENTRAL AIR BUT DOES HAVE A GOOD PORTABLE UNIT- USUALLY NOT NEEDED BUT FYI).

Wolf Lodge features a large meeting room, recreation center, outdoor year-round hot-tub and sauna. During the summer months we have outdoor tennis courts, miniature golf, and a swimming pool. For those who golf, Wolf Lodge borders a championship 18-hole golf course. You may not have time to relax!

This Cabin is located on a private street close to the main road connecting the Sundown lift parking lot to the parking lot of the base lodge. The road is paved to the garage (unique in this subdivision because some locations have to snowmobile to cabins) for easy access. A 4-wheel drive vehicle is mandatory for this ski area. From Wolf Creek in Eden to Powder Mountain, it’s a 5-mile climb to the ski area. Going up is easy but coming down it’s best to put the 4-wheel drive in a low gear to control speed. Depending on snow levels, guests can strap on their skis and maneuver to the Sundown Lift to access Lighting Ridge cat skiing (need a pass beforehand). Lighting Ridge then leads to Paradise Lift in the middle of the ski area. At the end of the day there’s an access trail that leads back to the Cabin’s private road. To start at the Base Lodge (200-300 feet) or Hidden Lake (1 mile) then a short vehicle transfer would be required.
 
This rustic cabin with cinched logs it everything desired in the mountains with all of luxuries of home. The floor-plan has an open living area so that everyone can spread out with plenty of recliners and couches to watch the Big Game.  The lower level also a TV room for those who want a quieter space.  The Cabin is framed with large windows bringing the outdoor inside. The views are elevated looking straight down the canyon to Ogden Valley. This is what you gain for driving 5-miles up an inclined road. Large expansive deck with an outdoor grill to sun on warm days. This property has a private hot tub to star gaze and watch night skiing after a long day on the slopes.
 
Utah Lodging recommends that guests plan to purchase groceries on the first day of arrival for the duration of the reservation or arrange for grocery service. Grocery Service fee is $95 plus the grocery bill. This includes liquor store deliveries too. Remember in Utah that Liquor Stores are separate from grocery stores. Better to plan ahead, stock the property and leave the days open to powder ski.
 
Powder Mountain is known for it’s “All Natural” Snow. It’s legendary for it’s quality of light power snow. Many believe the best in North America.

Powder Mountain has a variety of skiing opportunity from cat skiing to night skiing with the convenience of on-mountain ski and snowboarding rentals. Restaurants at the Base Lodge include the popular Powder Keg that offers live music most nights, draft beer and bar food such as chicken wings, burgers and kale salads. Upstairs at the Base Lodge is a cafeteria that is perfect for families serving Lucky Slice pizza, breakfast burritos, burgers and other comfort food. At the top at Hidden Lake the menu is more Mexican Cantina style with street tacos and taco salads.

 

This Cabin is located on a private street close to the main road connecting the Sundown lift parking lot to the parking lot of the base lodge. The road is paved to the garage (unique in this subdivision because some locations have to snowmobile to cabins) for easy access. A 4-wheel drive vehicle is mandatory for this ski area. From Wolf Creek in Eden to Powder Mountain, it’s a 5-mile climb to the ski area. Going up is easy but coming down it’s best to put the 4-wheel drive in a low gear to control speed. Depending on snow levels, guests can strap on their skis and maneuver to the Sundown Lift to access Lighting Ridge cat skiing (need a pass beforehand). Lighting Ridge then leads to Paradise Lift in the middle of the ski area. At the end of the day there’s an access trail that leads back to the Cabin’s private road. To start at the Base Lodge (200-300 feet) or Hidden Lake (1 mile) then a short vehicle transfer would be required.

 

This rustic cabin with cinched logs it everything desired in the mountains with all of luxuries of home. Newly outfitted in the past couple of years with modern style furniture and a fully stocked gourmet kitchen. The floorplan has two living areas so that everyone can have their space and the lower level as a wet bar.  The Cabin has large windows bringing the outdoor inside. The views are elevated looking straight down the canyon to Ogden Valley. This is what you gain for driving 5-miles up an inclined road. Large expansive deck with an outdoor grill to sun on warm days. This property has a brand new Bullfrog hot tub to star gaze and watch night skiing after a long day on the slopes.

 

Utah Lodging recommends that guests plan to purchase groceries on the first day of arrival for the duration of the reservation or arrange for grocery service. Grocery Service fee is $95 plus the grocery bill. This includes liquor store deliveries too. Remember in Utah that Liquor Stores are separate from grocery stores. Better to plan ahead, stock the property and leave the days open to powder ski.

 

Powder Mountain is known for it’s “All Natural” Snow. It’s legendary for it’s quality of light power snow. Many believe the best in North America.

The Warming Hut

This three bedroom, three bath home accommodates up to 8 people. It will indulge the cook in the group as the kitchen has it all, KitchenAid appliances, Cuisinart Waffle Iron, crock pot, electric griddle, popcon popper and a nice selection of spices. Granite counters, hardwood floors and island kitchen bar which flow right into the main living area make for an awesome cooking experience.

The living area is warm and inviting with vaulted ceiling and tasteful decorating. The comfortable living room furniture surrounds the large gas fireplace, with built-ins surrounding it, making TV viewing an option, not a requirement. Everything is on one level, a welcome feature for the knees after a full day or skiing or snowshoeing (which you can do right out the sliding door.) For summer time there`s a gas grill and hammock right on the patio with awesome views of Wolf Mountain and Ben Lomond Peak.

There are two full masters, each with private bath suite with deep whirlpool style tubs, oversized glass enclosed showers, and double sinks. There’s also a gas fireplace and kitchenette in one suite for the couple who MUST have their coffee before seeing the rest of the group!
